Bruxelles Plurielles - People from here who have come from elsewhere
Brussels has always been place where people come from all over the world. So there are very few “Bruxellois” who do not have a foreign grandfather among their ancestors. But who are these foreigners, why do they come here, how do they live, what do they bring us? The City Archives provide answers to these many questions by illustrating their words with documents and images from their very rich collections but also through testimonials. This was the perfect opportunity to put together a comprehensive overview of immigration in Brussels since the 16th century.
